Stroke Awareness Courses

Courses can be provided and tailored to suit your needs and those of your organisation, modules can be selected from the following:

• Introduction / facts about stroke
• Learn about the Stroke Pathway
• TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack) or CVA (Cerebral Vascular Attack)?
• Bleed or Clot?
• Permanent disability?
• Damage to the brain after stroke
• Fits
• Cognitive impairment
• Aphasia/ communication techniques
• Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy
• Teaching and learning not just therapy
• Rehabilitation in the Community
• Caring role
• Finances
• Adapting your home
• Homecoming after a long stay in hospital
• Coping/Stress
• Diet, eating and drinking
• How to set up a local self-help group

Modules can be offered as a minimum of a two hour session, a ½ day or a whole day and are organised to your requirements. Each module requires approximately ¾ of an hour to one hour delivery time.
